11:24 pm - He was turned to steel / In the great magnetic field I'm just coming up for air to say that Iron Man may very well be the best superhero movie ever made. It's up there with Batman Begins in my book, though that may be the sleep deprivation talking.
...and for those who know to look, notice that they actually got the brass rat correct. He is wearing it, and more important than that, it's facing the right way.
I really don't know what else to say. I'm in awe. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark.

Oh good! I've been looking forward to this movie for a loooooong time. I've been telling people that RDJ is Tony Stark and I'm glad to be vindicated.
Guess I should go see the movie now. ^_^
Interesting, since as far as I know, while it's been established in the comics that Tony graduated from MIT at age 15 or so, in the comics he's never been seen wearing a brass rat. They've never really done anything with it; I don't think there's even been an Iron Man story set at the 'Tute, and it's not something they really play up at all other than in Marvel Handbook entries.
Better. Sooooooo much better than Batman Begins. I think the Spiderman trilogy as a whole might be better, but Ironman beats any one of those. It vies with V for Vendetta as my favorite comic book movie ever.
And the bit after the credits made me sqeee like a mo-fo. I'm seeing it again tomorrow.
Who woulda thunk that I'd be an Ironman fan. I've always really disliked Tony Stark.
Robert Downey Jr. is made of awesome. Misogynistic, drunken, cracked-out awesome.
Fricken Squee.
I can't wait to see this movie. I must have watched every preview for it a dozen times each. I hope I get to see it tomorrow with my dad.
It's lovely. So so so so so lovely...

Totally agree on it being up there with Batman Begins. |
